About me

[edit]

I'm your typical American male with an interest in the future. I only speak English. I'm familiar with biological, chemical, and computer sciences with an interest in the humanities and economics.

Wikipedia

[edit]

My contributions are in a variety of areas:

I often make large contributions(full sections/pages) in a single edit, or I simply add a quote/image. I'm technically competent (OOP including C/C++/C# 2,3,4, PHP, Python 2.7), so I can work with the mediawiki api. I can also be found at the village pump, the reference desk, and on occasion at WP:RX.

I've completed several large batch uploads (1000's of pics).

I am ~375 in Users by bytes uploaded on wikipedia I am ~4000 in Wikipedians by number of edits

Some articles I've contributed to
Some article I've started that have since been expanded
Some simple/incomplete lists

Lists and comparisons: List of perfect numbers, Comparison of early word processors, List of State Departments of Homeland Security, Comparison of early HTML editors, List of execution chambers in the United States, List of chemistry societies

Some Navboxes
Articles that didn't quite make it

Amusing articles: Nude Nuns with Big Guns..theres more...but its no fun if its all here...see WP:Unusual articles

Some minor disputes

Barnstars

[edit]

Some praise for my efforts:

Extended content
The Original Barnstar
For numerous instances of adding citations to reliable sources to info that was not your own, as well as doing the arguably more monotonous job of talk page maintenance and template posting. Terrakyte (talk) 22:13, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
The Article Rescue Barnstar
The Rescue Barnstar is awarded to people who rescue articles from deletion.

This barnstar is awarded to Smallman12q, for his hard work in rescuing articles, making wikipedia a more detailed site, and helping editors to save their contributions. Thank you. Ikip (talk) 17:22, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

What a Brilliant Idea Barnstar
This barnstar is awarded to Smallman12q for his application which will revolutionize the way newsletters are sent. Thank you so much! Ikip Frank Andersson (45 revisions restored):an olympic medallist for f**k's sake 23:01, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
The Original Barnstar
Getting to work with people like you is one of the reasons I contribute to Wikipedia! kilbad (talk) 01:14, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
The Half Barnstar
Good work on getting the cleanup listings rolling again. This is a major tool a lot of editors have been using. I'd been talking with one editor, about a month ago, about how we could get this up again. Half a star doesn't really do it justice but you might find another editor that you know, has the other half to make a full star. Tom B (talk) 18:41, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

Est omnino difficile iudicare inclusionis meritum cuiusdam rei in encyclopædia cum ratio sciendi quid populi referat incerta sit, sed nihilominus aliquid encyclopædiam dedecet

It is generally difficult to judge the worthiness of a particular topic for inclusion in an encyclopedia considering that there is no certain way to know what interests people, but some topics nevertheless are not fit for an encyclopedia.

This motto reflects the desire of these Wikipedians to be reluctant, but not entirely unwilling, to remove articles from Wikipedia.
