I am John Hamilton, a retired teacher (a Deputy Head, and a teacher of Chemistry in London secondary schools).

BSc (St Cuthbert's Society, Durham University), PhD (London University).

I was born in Romford, Essex and later lived in Wanstead. After retiring, my wife and I now live in Mallerstang, Cumbria.

I have contributed to several Wikipedia articles, particularly on my local area, including: Mallerstang, Outhgill, Wild Boar fell, High Seat - and (for variety!), have also made minor contributions to Ralph Vaughan Williams and Electrophilic halogenation

I am interested, inter alia, in astronomy and classical music, especially that of Ralph Vaughan Williams - but also Haydn, Beethoven, and many other composers too obvious to mention.
