{{prod}}?
[edit]Copy of the text posted here;
- Can you give me a hint why you think that Payola (band) should be deleted? I would like to improve the article, and would find it useful to know exactly why you think it should be deleted as it stands.
And the reply posted here;
- The bot only leaves a notice of the deletion, the prod was added by an IP.
Note that the IP in question has yet to provide a reason. --Dan|(talk) 21:08, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
- The article is barely scraping WP:NN and WP:MUSIC and needs more proof of notability to stick around. It could be a notable subject. But the article doesn't prove it. 156.34.222.121 (talk) 23:43, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
- Just a hint... AuCkland is spelled with a 'C'. 156.34.222.121 (talk) 23:44, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for any help you can give - I am not really familiar with all the technical details of how to make a music article. I will read up, but please forgive me if I made mistakes in my recent edits. It seems to be working OK. --Dan|(talk) 11:42, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info... Hopefully since my last edits we are doing a bit better regarding the points you made. --Dan|(talk) 11:41, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Your edits are fine Dan, thank you, we will help you fill in the background to the article as you go if you can help tidy the html and links etc that would be superb —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.155.247.30 (talk) 13:23, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
note about google search...
[edit]The following search turns up mostly true positive hits; http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=payola+catlin
Info to add...
[edit]I will remove this from here when I add the condensed version to the article. --Dan|(talk) 07:58, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
'PAYOLA' WIN JIM BEAM BAND SEARCH
Auckland Rock band Payola have won the Jim Beam Rock Search and will be opening the Jim Beam Rock Stage at Vodafone Homegrown on April 26.
The genre-hopping foursome will easily hold their own ahead of the stella lineup which includes Elemeno-P, The Feelers, Goodnight Nurse, Opshop, Kora, Pluto and Shihad.
Not short on rockstar confidence they describe their sound as "styled sci-fi funk fused with alt-country gospel tunes and furious guitar fuelled metal soul all wrapped up in a sound so live and vital it'll pin you to the back wall, steal your cigarettes and waltz off with whoever you had your eye on".
Forming in 2005 Payola have recently released a limited edition E.P entitled 'Dirt and Stars' which caught the judges ears. The Rock's judge Riccardo BBB explains "We had a huge response with over a couple hundred bands and we were blown away with the quality. Payola just had that bit extra, that little something different; their song 'Oscillator' just sounds like it should be on a Quentin Tarintino soundtrack".
Lead singer Solomon Cole is suitably excited about the prize pack which includes flights, accommodation, and VIP backstage action "sjdhfkjasdfhldkjgfkjdhf"
Vodafone Homegrown takes over the Wellington Waterfront with 5 stages and 32 acts on April 26th from 1 to 11pm. Tickets are only $75 and selling fast from Ticketek, for more information visit www.homegrown.net.nz

Broken link among other problems
[edit]The link to the official site is broken ie payola.co.nz does not exist. According to Amplifier-Payola the official website is http://www.myspace.com/officialpayola which i think should be listed as the official site. If you look on this page you will see a discography which has quite a few more items on it than the discography on the wiki page. Futhermore Timothy William whom i know well is no longer part of the band, I am sure you can verify this on either the Amplifier or Myspace link.
I would have made these changes myself but wikipedia automatically rejected the change of link and told me to discuss it here first so i'm hoping one of you guys could make the changes.
Thanks,

- Per WP:EL, MySpace links are generally not acceptable as external links. It's better to leave it blank rather than to include a poor quality link. Papa November (talk) 11:02, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
The correct discography should be as follows
2005 - Gone to Ground - Album (Jayrem Records) "2005 - So Unless its Over - Single/Video "2005 - Every Little Step - Single/Video "2007 - Dirt and Stars - E.P (Independent) "2007 - Single - Oscillator (Radio Edit) "2007 - Oscillator - (Video) "2008 - Haunt Me (to be released) "2008 - Scorsese (Single/Video)
Also Timothy William was let go in the end of 2006.The website does not exisit at present whilst it is being rebuilt so correct!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.155.247.30 (talk) 13:19, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
