Cleanup

  • Bold should only be used in the lead for the name, not throughout the main text.
  • There is editorialisation which is not appropriate, such as this text under the image Winter Windows: "Like a bone-chilling blast of wind, an icy second canvas cuts through jagged gashes in the ashen, bloody surface of the forward canvas."
  • Here is another example of editorial comment, i.e. WP:OR: "In much of her output before the late 1960s, Frank seems less interested in color than in tonality and texture, often employing the gray scale to create a sense of depth or of motion from light to dark, this frequently moving in a diagonal (as in "Winter's End", 1958), and otherwise employing one basic hue (as with the earthy reds in "Plum Point", 1964). However, the later, "windowed" paintings show a sharper interest in vivid color relationships, "
  • The lead should be a summary of the article, and is too short at the moment.

In the section titled, "Discussion of Jane Frank's work" there are a lot of quotes. Perhaps these quotes (with citations) could be moved to the wikiquote? Jooojay (talk) 03:18, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Citation style

[edit]

I noticed someone had tagged this article for unclear citation style in May 2013, and I agree with this tagging. It is hard to read this article because of the lack of inline citations and the confusing style, see Wikipedia:Citing sources. Jooojay (talk) 09:06, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
