From recollection "H. Montgomery Hyde" is the name that appears on his books - would that be a better location? If there's no objection at all I'll move the page in three days. Timrollpickering 21:33, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

According to the article Battle of Cape Matapan, Hyde published a story in 1966 alleging that the spy Amy Elizabeth Thorpe seduced Admiral Alberto Lais, (the Italian naval attaché in Washington, D.C.) and that she obtained a codebook used by the British to defeat the Italians at Matapan. It continued : "Hyde was found guilty of libeling the dead." The reference given was ^[1]. There is nothing in this article about this. Does anyone have a copy of the book to provide details? Of course. Let's look at the problematic paragraph:

"Hyde later in 1972 wrote the first history of homosexuality in Great Britain and Ireland, The Other Love, perhaps his most memorable and long-lasting work. With its rich and detailed narratives, "fusing legal knowledge with illustrative anecdotage," it was the most extensive book on the subject. Antony Grey, secretary of the Homosexual Law Reform Society (HLRS) provided case histories and cuttings from the society's files for its contemporary section."

The link in the first sentence does not go to a first history of homosexuality in Great Britain and Ireland, or to the book The Other Love. It goes to a redirect to a Wiki list which is hardly the same thing. Another point, the paragraph is missing references.

Maybe I am seeing a problem where there isn't one, so tell you what, I will copy this over to the article's talk page to hopefully get more input. Moriori (talk) 23:01, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
