Nationality
[edit]In this edit I removed "Pakistani" from the |nationality=
parameter of the infobox and from the lead, for two reasons:
- If she was born in the United States, then by default she would be an American, with some exceptions (if her parents were foreign diplomats, for instance.)
- If she has renounced her US citizenship and become a Pakistani national, then the proper value in that parameter would be "Pakistani".
- If she holds citizenship in both nations, then we would probably opt to use the
|citizenship=
parameter. - If she doesn't hold dual citzenship, then "Pakistani" describes her ethnicity, and this doesn't belong in
|nationality=
, since nationality is not ethnicity, and per WP:ETHNICITY, this wouldn't belong in the lead either, since we don't typically indicate people's ethnicities in the lead.
