Laelia rubescens is a species of orchid native to Mexico and Central America.[1]
Distribution
[edit]Laelia rubescens is native to the Central American countries Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and much of Southern/Central Mexico.[2] It also occurs in the wild in Florida and Cuba as an escapee from cultivation, having been intentionally introduced as an ornamental plant.[3][4] Laelia rubescens grows in seasonally dry, deciduous forests as an epiphyte and occasionally as a lithophyte at elevations below 1700 meters.[5]
