The 2024–25 season is the 131st season in the history of Oxford United Football Club. It is their first season back in the Championship (the second tier of English football) since the 1998–99 season, following their promotion from League One via the play-offs the previous season. In addition to the domestic league, the club will also participate in the FA Cup, and the EFL Cup.

Pre-season and friendlies
[edit]On 31 May, Oxford United announced their first pre-season friendly, against Oxford City.[34] Five days later, a behind closed doors fixture versus Exeter City was confirmed.[35] On 25 June, it was confirmed the club would also travel to face Mansfield Town.[36] Three days later, two further friendlies wers added, against Palermo and Solihull Moors.[37][38]
