How to Edit a Wikibook Page
(directions for new contributors and editors)

[edit source]

Organization and Structure

[edit source]

You'll use headings and subheadings to organize your page. The TOCright tag automatically generates a table of contents for your page! Check out the Wikitext below to see how to format your Wikipage.

Loggin In and Contact Info

[edit source]

Remember to LOG IN so your edits are recorded under your name/account. Each page has a Discussion or Talk page that you can use as you wish. Definitely put your contact info there so that an interested person can reach you (e-mail address is sufficient).

Remember to Use Discussion Page

[edit source]

The discussion page is also a good place for any "message to the reader" or to paste the links and references you may want to use. You and your peer editors may also use this page for questions and tips to share.

Adding an Image

[edit source]
Stephen Hawking, physicist, person with ALS and AAC user

Images illustrate your ideas and the products you mention, and they also break up the page to make it more attractive and less intimidating to the reader. You can control the placement (left or right), the size (in pixels), and whether you have a caption or not. Check out the code below to see how this image tag is formatted.

[edit source]

If you reference a source of information for iPhone assistive technology [Apple 2009][1], the footnote number is automatically placed and source is added to the references list below. Similarly, if you cite the South Dakota (2006) early childhood assistive technology source [2], the footnote reference will be formatted as APA style if that's how you write it. The references don't have to be hot links; they can be to book pages or journal articles.

[edit source]

The rubric you'll follow for reviewing others' pages is found on the Wilkes Moodle Site.

Tables

[edit source]

Check the page Help:Tables for more information. Below is a simple sample table.

Number of books Number of modules
