The WikiWyvern is a WikiFauna who tries to contribute through dramatic, bold, and sometimes grandiose edits; but generally this is never truly the case in practice.
Behavior and characteristics
editWikiWyverns are best compared to the closely related WikiDragons. Some scientists have theorized that WikiWyverns are actually a newly discovered adolescent stage of the WikiDragon, but not enough data has been collected to support that theory. However, it is likely at least some WikiWyverns manage to transform into their larger counterparts.
Unlike WikiDragons, WikiWyverns usually have two legs instead of four. They also have few, if any, sizeable amounts of treasure. Instead, WikiWyverns just try to get by through stealing whatever they need from other users. Thinking they have the status of a large WikiDragon rather than being a weak-willed newbie, WikiWyverns try unsuccessfully to enter conflict with other users.
This Wikifauna is almost always a relatively new user with fewer edits to the Namespacespace than in Userspace or Talkspace, despite insisting they contribute a lot to the encyclopedia.
Status
editSudden growth
editDuring the Postmodern age of Wikifauna, an unanticipated rapid increase in the number of WikiWyverns were discovered. This may be due in part to the lack of a apex predator in the Wikipedia ecosystem with a void caused by the near extinction of the WikiDragon. However, WikiWyverns are actually secondary consumers and scavengers; they are akin to the WikiJackal in this regard.
Enemies
editGenerally, most WikiFauna will not bother dealing with the WikiWyvern. However, they sometimes are tracked down by a young WikiKnights or a particularly cruel WikiMercenary. WikiWyverns are not the best at conflict despite their attempts to portray the contrary.
Being a new-ish user that most people don't really care about or simply aren't aware of, they are highly susceptible to the bite of a WikiVampire.
