Search for Russian Aviators
editThere's some film of Wilkins about his expedition to the North Pole in search of some missing Russian aviators on an edition of Arthur C. Clarke's World of Strange Powers on YouTube here: [1] - he had been hired by the Russian government and was using a Consolidated Catalina marked URSS. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.112.62.143 (talk) 15:27, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
Brother of Sealer-Whaler Russian Finn John Wilkins of Karta Kangaroo Island?
editPers comm pre-eminent enduring Sovereign Ramindjeri yesterday 28 Feb 2011 with Meryl Mansfield & Christine Walker yesterday revealed that the Late Val Power apparently said that Sir Hubert Wilkins was the youngest brother of John Wilkins who's been described as a Russian-Finn sealer on Karta Kangaroo Island at Hog Bay now SA Government Gazetted Penneshaw, South Australia. I'm wondering therefore is there is other research corroberating such significant South Australian history? Mifren (talk) 04:03, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

2011 Australian 20cent Coin EXTRACT - "The Australia Remembers series of NCLT 20c continues with a third release in March 2011. Previous issues have been the 2010 Lost Soldiers of Fromelles 20c, PNC and 2009 Service Nurses 20c. This series recognises and celebrates those people who made history beyond the battlefields. The 2011 coin remembers War Historians who shaped our perceptions of conflicts since the Boer War. ... The image depicted on the reverse of the coin sculpted by the Royal Australian Mints' Wojciech Pietranik was designed using an image from the Australian War Memorial photographic archives. Of course some changes had to be made for the image to transform to a coin design and the official photographer, Captain George Hubert Wilkins, MC was removed for the coin. Staff Sergeant William Joyce is seen standing with tripod and camera on a British Mark V tank as the pair record the advance of Australian troops through the Hindenburg Line. 49.181.237.52 (talk) 03:33, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
