ethics
editWhat about the ethics of a plastic surgeon who would operate under these circumstances? Or are there any ethics responsibility for these doctors? Jgwlaw
- I remember in Canada a head doctor warned against peforming surgical operations on an copy of Extreme makeover due to ethics issues there must be mre more examples and I think it should be at the very least mentioned --Mdavies 965 (talk) 23:59, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

Deleese Williams lawsuit
editI searched the internet and could find no update on the lawsuit. Was it dropped? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 209.206.165.61 (talk) 07:33, 29 January 2007 (UTC).
- I have just commented out the final sentence on Deleese Williams, namely:
Although no concrete evidence was presented by the plaintiff (Williams) to the court, connecting the defendants (the producers of Extreme Makeover) to the things that McGee said, the producers settled due to fear that Williams mental state was also in jeopardy.
No citation is given, nor could I find any evidence for that statement. Court records and press releases are needed. Moreover, the formulation "due to the fear" accepts the (presumed) POV of ABC, i.e. that they are honest about their motivation; "citing the fear" would be justified if that was in a statement released by ABC. I must also say how extremely depressing it was wading through the material posted about the matter. Mrs. Williams does not appear ugly to me, so I suppose her self-image was distorted. Fantastic
editHello:
I just wanted to send a quick note to tell you that I find it very stimulating and tearful in how you change peoples lives for the better. I, finally after 18 years of being physically abused had the courage to walk out on my own. I will have a reminder of my abuse for the rest of my life, believe me your show gives me a warm feeling. Now I can walk out my door and not be afraid, my self esteem is gone. I am lucky I work at home so I don't have to go out much. The love for my four children is far more important. I actually feel better watching the miracles you perform. I wish I lived closr to you and maybe I could be a candidate, but oh well.
Please keep the dream alive by bringing joy to these wonderful people.
Have a great day.
Sincerely,
Patty Healey
p.s. my email address is daisymania2@yahoo.com. Would love to know if someone will read my thank you and the affect on me

This TV program is one of the most toxic things I have ever seen on TV
It makes me feel sick just to think that people in need have to be that "lucky" to win this kind of lottery and get the "help" of those "generous" hungry of fame and "reputation"....
Wishing you the BEST IN THE FUTURE!!!!
With love,
the TV monter —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.174.172.81 (talk) 04:22, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
