Puran (Bhanja Puran or Tamudia Puran) is a caste group of East India. They are primarily inhabitants of Odisha, West Bengal and Jharkhand.[1] They are currently considered as Other Backward Class,[2] but Jharkhand and Odisha government proposed to include in Scheduled Tribes list.[3][4]
