- "I'm sorry, but I'm really not one for engaging in conversation, please leave me."
- ―Ungolim[src]
Ungolim is a Bosmer assassin and a Listener of the Dark Brotherhood's Black Hand, during the final days of the Third Era.
Personality[]
Ungolim is rather reclusive and owns a small two floored house in Bravil. Every day he prays to the Night Mother, showing his intense devotion to her and the Dark Brotherhood.
Biography[]
Ungolim is not mentioned during the Dark Brotherhood questline until "A Kiss Before Dying," during which the Hero is tasked with assassinating Ungolim.
According to Dead Drop Orders 7, Ungolim apparently believes in the superstition behind the Lucky Old Lady statue which claims the statue grants good luck and prosperity. Ungolim is supposedly lovestruck and prays to the statue every night for the heart of a young maiden.
The dead drop further claims this maiden is married and her husband has learned of Ungolim's affection. In fear of competition, he has contacted the Dark Brotherhood to deal with him.[1]
When the Hero arrives in Bravil, they discover Ungolim is expecting trouble and will attack the Hero on sight. Like J'Ghasta, he has bribed the guards to look the other way if there is a fight.
Once Ungolim is killed, Lucien Lachance will approach the Hero and reveal Ungolim was no "lovestruck fool" but the Listener of the Dark Brotherhood, whom the Hero had unwittingly killed due to false orders from the traitor.
Thanks to this revelation, Ungolim is the last member of the Black Hand killed by the Hero.
According to the Night Mother during the quest, "Honor Thy Mother," the Night Mother considered Ungolim to be weak, which was why she refused to inform him of Mathieu Bellamont's thirst for vengeance.
Trivia[]
- During the quests "Following a Lead" and "Honor Thy Mother," Ungolim is revealed to have a successor. It is never revealed who this successor is or how they died.[2]
