For other uses, see Imperial Palace.

The Imperial Palace is the capital of the Empire of Tamriel, and doubles as a dungeon within the Imperial City in The Elder Scrolls: Arena. It is the final location of the main questline.

Overview[]

The Imperial Palace is a large brown fort-like structure in the farthest north section of the Imperial City. It has four red flags on top of six visible towers connected by one large surrounding wall.

The Champion is rejected...

Jagar Tharn, for the majority of the game, has made the Palace inaccessible by denying he has any free time to entertain subjects as Emperor.[1] The guards in turn deny everyone, including the Eternal Champion, from entering. The Palace only becomes accessible once all eight pieces of the Staff of Chaos have been reassembled, and Ria Silmane uses the last remnant of her magic to disguise the Champion, tricking the guards.[2]

Quests[]

Imperial Palace[]

The last main quest of Arena. After collecting all of the eight split pieces of the Staff of Chaos from the eight provinces of Tamriel surrounding the Imperial Province, the Eternal Champion's final quest lies in a fight to reach the final floor of the Imperial Palace, where Jagar Tharn, the Jewel of Fire, and an army of monsters await.

Trivia[]

  • Unlike most other palaces and castles in Arena, the Imperial Palace has no gate at the City's entrance and instead mentions guards defending it when approaching too early in the questline.
  • Appearing again in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, the Imperial Palace had taken on a much different design, being the White-Gold Tower.
