The Great Orrery or the Summerset Orrery is the name given to the Orrery at Firsthold. Its spheres are made up of genuine celestial minerals gathered by the Sun Birds of Alinor who traveled to Aetherius during the Merethic Era. The Sun Birds were eventually dissolved due to the untenable expenditures required to reach magic by magicka.[1]
It is said that in the year 563 of the Second Era, on the night of Queen Ayrenn's disappearance, the Orrery spun backwards, implying a prophecy according to the Sapiarchs. This prophecy came in the form of the First Aldmeri Dominion.[2]
