Walkthrough[]
After completing "A Graveyard of Ships", Captain One-Eye will vow to take revenge on the ghost that cursed the treasure and killed her crew. When the Vestige is done talking to her, an Argonian Skeleton will appear and warn the Vestige that they have come to a very bad place. The Vestige can speak to the skeleton and it will reveal that the skeletons here are slaves to the Admiral, who is building a Coral Tower to reach a portal in the sky. He controls the skeletons using the Crown of Bones, a cursed relic he received from Molag Bal himself. He will mention that the key to reaching the Admiral is in the final part of his journal, which is hidden in a ship called The Golden Era. When the Vestige is done talking to him, a projection of the Admiral will appear and order the skeleton to attack; One-Eye will leap forward and slay the skeleton.
The Vestige can speak with One-Eye. She will tell them to meet her at the The Golden Era located south, just southeast of the map marker. It is the only ship in the area that is still fully intact. In the wharf west of the ship, the Vestige will find the lorebook The Library of Dusk: Rare Books. East of the ship, is a talking skull called Bosun Bones that will provide the quest "Old Bones." That quest takes place in the same area as this one, so it is efficient to do both simultaneously. Either way, the Vestige can head onto the ship and below deck, and start looking for the journal. The door to the journal's room is on the west side of the room where the Vestige enters. The journal will explain that that many of the skeletons here were sailors from Alten Corimont and that an old captain of the All Flags Navy is now the Admiral enslaving all the skeletons. There is also a key to the Admiral's quarters hidden within the pages of the journal.
Once the Vestige is done reading, One-Eye will enter the room; she will reveal that she has a plan for how to proceed, but that it does not involve the Vestige. The Vestige can either choose to give her the journal or insist that they join her. If the Vestige just gives her the journal, [?]. If the Vestige insists on helping her, she will task them with getting the Crown of Bones that the Admiral uses to control the skeletons while she uses her connections to Alten Corimont to try and break the skeletons free. The key that was found will open the way into a tunnel east of the ship that leads to the Coral Tower. While progressing through this tunnel, a projection of the Admiral will appear and send skeletons to attack the Vestige. At the other end of the cave, the Vestige will find themselves on a path to the Coral Tower. There is a skyshard on the side path north of the cave's exit. At the entrance to the tower, the Admiral will taunt the Vestige to come in and be killed.
The Vestige can enter the tower, then proceed up the stairs and fight the skeletons. They will find the Crown of Bones on one of their bodies. With it, the Vestige can head back outside and speak with One-Eye. She will suggest that the Vestige either destroy the crown or give it to her. If the Crown is destroyed, it might set the skeletons free, or it might kill them. If the Crown is given to One-Eye, she will try to use it to set the sailors free, but the crown might be cursed and affect her. If the Crown is given to One-Eye, she will transform into a skeleton, but be able to free the others of Molag Bal's influence, becoming their new leader. If the Crown is destroyed, the skeletons will remain under Molag Bal's influence and One-Eye will remain to find another way to free them, saying something about having to use an old shaman's tricks to get a new crew. Either way, the quest will now be complete.
Trivia[]
- Skeletons in the location will not be hostile after the completion of the quest, even if the crown is destroyed.
