Walkthrough[]
During "In the Name of the King," head to the Shatul Range and talk to Laurig. He will tell you that his chief is seriously injured and does not have much time left, and that the clan would fall into chaos without a chief. He wishes to become the next chief, so he will ask you to help him prove his strength. He will ask you to track the giant that hurt Chief Ogzor so that he may slay it.
You can find the start of the giant's trail just east of town; crouch to see the trail. The trail will appear as glowing bushes with quest markers over them. Follow it until you reach the giant Urgkail the Cleaver just northwest of Coldperch Cavern. Team up with Laurig to slay the giant, then head back to camp and talk to Laurig there. He will tell you his past; he was the chief of a smaller clan that was wiped out, and he was to marry a woman named Ushruka who chose exile instead. After this conversation, the clan's wise woman Yazara will show up and Laurig will tell her what you two did. Yazara will want to speak with you. She will tell you there is another contender for the role of thief, a man named Ulghesh who has recently returned from guard duty in Orsinium. She wants you to talk to him to find out whether he has the qualities of a chief.
You will find Ulghesh just south of the wayshrine. He is looking for something called a Snow Truffle at the request of Yazara, ad will ask you to help out. To do this, you must first wake the Echatere Scamper sleeping in the snow mound here. Next, guide Scamper to a snow truffle patch around the area. You may have to try several patches before you find one with a snow truffle. Once you have found a snow truffle, take it back to Yazara in Shatul. She will tell you that the two contenders must now face each other in a duel. She has already told Laurig where to go, so you must now tell Ulghesh. If you are an Orc, you can also become a contender yourself. If you do this, [?].
When you go looking for Ulghesh in his tent, you will find not Ulghesh but Ushruka there. She will tell you that she disguised herself as Ulghesh so hat she could return to Shatul and become its chief. She will tell you to return to Yazara to inform her of Ushruka's intentions. When you talk to Yazara, you can either tell her the truth or you can tell her that "Ulghesh" is on his way to the duel. If you tell her the truth, she will voice her disapproval of both candidates, and will ask you to replace one of their swords with a weakened blade. You cannot refuse to tamper in the duel in this way. The duel will take place in the Bloody Knoll northeast of town; the swords will be in the weapon racks on both sides of the first room. After this, hide on the platform overlooking the arena, and the fight will commence. The person whose sword you replaced will lose the duel.
After the duel, return to Yazara to finish the quest.

"Ulghesh" is really Ushruka, the exiled daughter of Chief Ogzor. She posed as Ulghesh so she could be named a contender, and wants to be the new chief of Shatul. She asked me to tell her grandmother Yazara that she is headed to the Bloody Knoll to fight Laurig.

(If informed Yazara) According to Yazara, Shatul will have a difficult time accepting Ushruka or Laurig as chief. She asked me to slip a flawed blade to the weakest contender.
