The Jhorash'tar are a clan of nomadic Orcs who reside in the Ironroot Mountains of the Mror Holds.[1][2][3][4] The clan has a strong warrior tradition formed by thousands of years of conflict with the dwarves of the Mror Holds.[3]
History[]
The Jhorash'tar were once found all over the Mror Holds.[5] However, they were displaced when the dwarves began to expand and prosper under Karrnath and Galifar.[3] The Jhorash'tar were forcefully removed from their ancestral homes and pushed underground and into the more inhospitable areas of the mountains.[1][4] This historical grievance is why the Jhorash'tar hold such strong grudges against the dwarves and any whom they perceive to have befriended them.[3]
The Jhorash'tar wage a guerilla war against the dwarves, raiding merchant caravans or dwarven mines.[1][3] However, the casualties continue to mount and the orcs continue to be pushed back farther into the mountains.[3]
While some of the dwarf clans, like Clan Mroranon, seek the destruction of the Jhorash'tar orcs, others, like Clans Toldorath and Tordannon, seek to reconcile the orcs, and have them join the Iron Council as a member clan.[2]
Culture[]
The Jhorash'tar have developed a strong warrior tradition that values the ability to hold one's own in a fight. The most exceptional fighters and leaders among the Jhorash'tar receive the title of Bloodspiller.[3]
Religion[]
The Jhorash'tar practice a variety of religious beliefs. Some follow the Mockery, while others follow the Dragon Below. Some orcs are simply agnostic.[1]
The Jhorash'tar do not follow the Gatekeeper druid tradition of the orcs of western Khorvaire.[1]
