I cannot turn you away if you come bearing news of Master Miles. Please, my lady. Rose is in the courtyard.

–Butler

Butler is a Raposa character in Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter and Drawn to Life: Two Realms. He is Mayor Rose's butler, as his name implies, and he lives in Rose's Mansion with Rose and Miles. He tells Mari about Rose's past and acts as her point of contact for Rose until her voice is restored. Four years later, he would move to Rapoville with Miles, though whether this was a temporary or permanent move is unknown.

TowerIcon.png Appearance[edit]

Butler, like most male Raposa, has orange fur and short, stubby ears. He wears a black tuxedo with a white shirt underneath, and has black hair and a white mustache.

Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter[edit]

Butler is first seen when Mari first enters Rose's Mansion. He initially turns her away, but when she tells him that she has news about Miles, he takes her to the courtyard to speak with Rose. He then explains Salem and Promise Conch to Mari, and she promises to find Miles to ease her stress. Later on, Mari brings Miles and the Promise Conch back to Rose's Mansion, and Butler collects the Conch after the Creator returns Rose's voice. At the celebration of her voice, Butler helps corner Miles into receiving the Power of Song. The transfer is stopped, and Butler would watch Salem reveal himself as Wilfre and attack. Later on, Jowee would visit Butler, Rose, and Miles asking if they had seen Mari after she ran away.

Drawn to Life: Two Realms[edit]

Four years later, Butler and Miles would move to Rapoville, living in the Watersong District. He plays no major role in the story.

May I enquire as to your purpose here?

–Butler

Upon meeting Mari.

She is not accepting visitors at the moment, I do apologise.

–Butler

Master Miles!? Is he safe?

–Butler

I cannot turn you away if you come bearing news of Master Miles, please my lady, Rose is in the courtyard.

–Butler

I'm sorry, the mayor is unable to speak... I will explain...

–Butler

Vanity came with the ultimate price... Our village is built upon the foundation of music and song. It fuels our hope and prosperity. Without it our village would cease to exist.
The mayors of this village have passed down the power of song from generation to generation. With Rose's voice gone, so too is the future of this village...

–Butler

I'm afraid not. Unless we find the conch that holds the promise, her voice is lost forever. Rose grows weaker by the day, and without the voice, her life hangs by a thread.
Miles took it upon himself to look for the conch to save his mother's life... ...but his absence has merely added to Rose's stress.
Please find Miles. I want Rose to be happy in her final days.

–Butler

My lady, never make promises you can't keep.

–Butler

Miss Mari... you are back! Is that the Promise Conch?!

–Butler

Forgive me for ever doubting you and Hero.

–Butler

Hero, I'm worried about Miles.

–Butler

Before completing Sleuthing Extraordinaire

I'm sure Master Miles would love a visit, Hero.

–Butler

Before completing Pulled Two Ways

Goodness sir, it is good to see Master Miles so full of vim and vigor.

–Butler

Before unlocking The Text Step

Without Master Miles to care for... I don't know what I'll do.

–Butler

After unlocking The Text Step but before attempting it

Purposeless. I'm purposeless now that Master Miles can take care of himself.

–Butler

After losing The Text Step

Ah! I wonder if instead of a Butler, I became a watch reviewer in the local paper. What do you think?

Trivia[edit]

  • With the exception of his fear sprite, all of Butler's forward-facing sprites depict him with his eyes closed.
  • He and Count Choco are the only characters with comb-overs.
  • Like Mayor, it is unknown if Butler's name is truly "Butler" or if "Butler" is just his title.
  • According to the Raposa-Human Counterpart Sheet created during development of Drawn to Life: Two Realms, Butler is Billy Yonder's counterpart[1].
