Roundbeck

First generation[]

Pankraz and the Hero stop into this small town to check on Whitey Whitaker, a good friend of his, who has fallen ill. As Pankraz checks in on Whitey and finds that his treatment has been delayed, the townsfolk speak of haunting noises from the north at night. Here, the player also meets Bianca, who is eager to play with the Hero and show off what she has learnt. Meanwhile, two boys attempt to provoke a great sabrecub they have captured; they tire quickly, and are also spooked because of the ghosts. Thus, they offer the cub as a reward if someone can banish the spooks.

Bianca has a yen for adventure, and so leads the Hero to the source of the hauntings: Uptaten Towers. The two use the cover of night to escape the inn and go adventuring. If the player extends time resting at the Roundbeck Inn, then Pankraz catches a cold. If the player completes Uptaten, both men recover.

Second/third generation[]

Though Whealbrook has been sacked by agents of Coburg, Roundbeck is spared their aggression, and the party can stop here to rest or refresh provisions.

Whitey and Bianca have since moved on to points unknown, having lost his wife and sold the inn to other parties. The new owners, however, have the world-famous Zizzwizz Pillow as a token of customer appreciation in all remake versions.
