- When raising a new Scarab while already having maximum allowed Scarabs, the oldest Scarab will die.
- Scarabs cannot attack.

Mana Burn (6.63-7.32e)[]
Mana Burn (6.63-7.32e)
Destroys the target hero's mana equal to a multiplier of its Intelligence, and deals damage equal to the mana burned.

The tome in Ultimyr describes one scarab with the ability to eat away at the minds of lesser beings.
- Mana Burn first applies the damage, then the mana loss.
- Effectively burns 19%/27%/34%/42% of the target's maximum mana pool if it has no flat mana bonus.
- Despite dealing the damage first, the damage is based on how much mana the target actually lost from Mana Burn. This affects a few things:
- For example, when cast on an enemy who has 5 mana left, it also deals only 5 damage (before reductions).
- If the damage dealt triggers Reincarnation, it does not apply the mana loss.
- Mana Shield first applies the damage absorption, then the Mana Burn's damage regardless of the affected target's health.
- Can be cast on creep-heroes, but has no effect on them, since they have no intelligence points, wasting mana and cooldown.
- While Burrowed, Mana Burn can be cast without having to face the targeted point or unit.

- This ability got replaced by Urna Swarm in the 6.67 gameplay patch.
- Returns the amount of damage before any reductions.
- Only affects enemy melee units.

The Nerubian Assassin has mastered the art of deception. While Active, he will phase out if he is hit.
- This ability replaced Spiked Carapace (5.61-6.67) in the 5.62 gameplay patch, and was replaced back by Spiked Carapace (5.61-6.67) in the 5.66 gameplay patch.
- Shrink disjoints projectiles upon cast.
- Certain items which do not cancel channeling spells (e.g. Shadow Blade or Shiva's Guard) do cancel Shrink.
- Turns the caster invulnerable and hidden for its duration.
- Does not provide phased movement, so the caster can still block other units during Shrink.
