The Spain Pavilion was a proposed pavilion that bid for Epcot's World Showcase Pavilion themed after Spain. It was going to be the final Phase 2 pavilion, but ended up being scrapped.
History[]
The Spain Pavilion was one of the proposed projects for Epcot's World Showcase and was part of the Phase 2 expansion of Epcot. The area itself would have featured two attractions, a movie house that would have shown a film that highlighted the nation's landmarks as well as a dark ride showcasing Spanish culture. Aside from the attractions that were proposed for Spain, one of the other facilities showcased a restaurant serving Spanish cuisine such as tapas, paella, gazpacho, a variety of seafood, and sangria. Like many pavilions part of the World Showcase, it was going to show a theme centered around of what Spain was like during the ancient times and later in modern times. This pavilion ended up being scrapped, due to changes within the Spanish government at the time, leaving the sponsorship being unable to be finalized.
