Trivia[]
- Ariel's implied role in the creation of the original story in this episode strongly implies that the franchise takes place during the early-to-mid-19th century. The original tale was first published in 1837, so it is likely that the franchise took place around that time.
- Ariel's pose in the final scene is a reference to The Little Mermaid Statue in Copenhagen, Denmark.
- At the end of the episode, the viewers are encouraged to check out Hans Christian Andersen's other stories by a narrator.
