Lalaine Vergara-Paras, also known as Lalaine, is a Filipino-American actress, singer-songwriter, and spokesperson.
For Disney, she is best known for her role as Miranda Sanchez in the Disney Channel Original Series Lizzie McGuire. She also played Abby Ramirez in the 2003 Disney Channel Original Movie You Wish! and Kate in Annie. In addition, she contributed vocally to soundtracks, like Disneymania 3, Disneyremixmania, and the Disney Channel Original Movie Pixel Perfect.
Early life and career[]
Lalaine was born in Burbank, California, to Filipino parents and spent most of her early years in Burbank. She joined the Broadway National Touring cast of Les Misérables as Little Cosette. After the tour, Lalaine and her mother resided in Sherman Oaks. Lalaine made her film debut in 1999 as Theresa in Borderline and has appeared in films, like Royal Kill, Easy A, and One Night Alone.
For television, Lalaine appeared in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and guest starred in Christy's Kitchen Throwback starring former Disney actress Christy Carlson Romano. In 2002, Lalaine departed from Lizzie McGuire to focus on her music career and other film projects. The following year, she released her only album Inside Story.
