Insuricare is a location in the 2004 Disney/Pixar animated film The Incredibles. It is a corrupt insurance company at which Bob Parr worked before returning to the hero world.

Appearances[]

The Incredibles[]

Under the grip of the greedy, callous CEO of the company, Gilbert Huph, it was forbidden to aid potentially insured customers, no matter how legitimate their claims were, although Bob usually attempts to help them get around loopholes. This has earned him some antagonism from Huph, who did not want to help his customers, although when directly asked about it, he tries to deny it, citing that the law requires him to.

One day, after Bob was called in a meeting with Huph who griped about Bob's clientele receiving coverage, Mirage went to his office disguised as a employee and secretly slipped a tablet in his briefcase. During the meeting, Bob sees a man being mugged right outside the window and tries to help, but Huph threatens to fire him if he leaves the office. Angered at seeing the mugger run off, Bob loses his temper and he snatches his callous boss by the throat before tossing him through four walls, severely injuring him, resulting in Huph being taken to the hospital and Bob getting fired.

Two months later, Bob's wife, Helen calls Insuricare to ask for her husband's whereabouts (as he lied by saying that he was away at a conference), only to be told that Bob was in fact fired.

Incredibles 2[]

Months after Bob is fired, Helen reminds him of his time at the company when she decides to become the family's new breadwinner for the Deavor siblings. Despite being fired, Bob still keeps a coffee cup with the company's logo on it.

Trivia[]

  • The name is a spoof on "insurance", on how a practice or arrangement by which a company or government agency provides a guarantee of compensation for specified loss, damage, illness, or death in return for payment of a premium.
  • The symbol and slogan of the company are quite negative, since it represents a hand trying to snatch the Earth along with the slogan "your life is in our hands", which heavily implies that the company wants to hold people's lives at their mercy.
  • A memo in Mr. Huph's office explains that due to budget cuts, all employees are now expected to pay for their own office supplies, parking will be charged by the hour, and that the cost of electricity and phone calls would be taken out of their paychecks, all to ensure that Insuricare can continue growing their all-time profit high for the year.
  • In the English version of the film, in the scene where Bob denies Mrs. Hogenson's claim, the stamp says "DENIED". In the international versions, instead, the stamp is changed to a red "X" to get around language barriers.
