Glynn Turman

Glynn Russell Turman is an American actor, writer, and director. He appeared in movies, such as Five on the Black Hand Side, Thomasine & Bushrod, The River Niger, J.D.'s Revenge, A Hero Ain't Nothin' but a Sandwich, Gremlins, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, Sahara, Burlesque, Super 8, John Dies at the End, Bumblebee, and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.

On television, Glynn has appeared in Peyton Place, Room 222, The Mod Squad, Hawaii Five-O, Visions, Centennial, The Greatest American Hero, The Love Boat, T.J. Hooker, The Twilight Zone, Murder, She Wrote, A Different World, Resurrection Blvd., The Bernie Mac Show, The Wire, the Law & Order franchise, In Treatment, House of Lies, and Close Enough.

For Disney, he played Lloyd Lyman in The Magical World of Disney episode "Ask Max", voiced Pa Towne in The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, and played Mr. Brunner/Chiron in Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Additionally, for Touchstone Pictures, he played Spencer Phillips in The Inkwell. He also appeared as Nate Lahey Sr. in How to Get Away with Murder and Billy Blade in Black-ish on ABC. Additionally, he portrayed Doctor Senator in the fourth season of Fargo on FX.

• Turman was considered for the role of Han Solo in the original Star Wars. He was passed on because there would have been controversy about the depiction of an interracial couple at the time. Turman has no ill will towards George Lucas and joked that Harrison Ford "has [his] career".^[1]
• Turman is an experienced equestrian who runs his own summer camp, Camp Gid D Up, where he teaches children and teenagers how to ride horses among other activities. The showrunners had no idea about his history as an equestrian and camp director when casting him as Chiron.
