Jeffrey Lynn "Jeff" Goldblum is an American actor and musician, whose career began in the mid-1970s, and is best known for his roles in major box-office successes, including Seth Brundle in the 1986 film remake of The Fly, Ian Malcolm in the first two films of the Jurassic Park franchise, Deputy Vilmos Kovacs in The Grand Budapest Hotel, and David Levinson in Independence Day and its 2016 sequel. He also portrayed Detective Zach Nichols in the USA Network crime drama series Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2009-2010). Additionally, he voiced Verminous Skumm in Captain Planet and the Planeteers and Aaron in the 1998 DreamWorks animated film The Prince of Egypt. He also made a guest appearance in Sesame Street, playing Bob's adventurous brother Minneapolis Johnson a spoof of Indiana Jones.
For Disney, he played Donald Ripley in the 1996 Hollywood Pictures film Powder, Ricky Hayman in the 1998 Touchstone Pictures film Holy Man, and Alistair Hennessey in The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. He was also mentioned in the The Muppets episode "Hostile Makeover". Additionally, he played Grandmaster in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and reprised this role in Thor: Ragnarok, Team Darryl, and What If...? He also served as the host of the Disney+ original series The World According to Jeff Goldblum.
