Redux Riding Hood[]
When Doris was a senior in highschool, she was courted by the geeky Leonard Fox and the big man on campus, Big Bad Wolf, choosing the latter and eventually marrying him.
However in the present, the Big Bad Wolf is haunted by his failure to eat Red Riding Hood and obsessives over his failure, eventually leading having psychotic breakdowns and recurring nightmares. Despite Doris's support, the Wolf does not get better, he eventually loses his job and stays in bed, at one point writing Red all over the room in a fit of madness. As Doris relationship with Wolf gets further strained, she comes to regrets marrying him and thinks of how Leonard Fox became a successful software company owner.
Eventually in a fit of obsession, the Wolf manages to build a time machine after two days straight of working in the garage, aiming to correct his greatest mistake, much to Doris's utter shock. The Wolf goes back to assist his past self so they can successfully eat Red Riding Hood and rewrite history so he's a success.
However the wolf fails as the Grandma stops him this time, the Big Bad Wolf returns to Doris with his past self, as the two blame each-other for their failure. The Big Bad Wolf tries to change time again with his clone, only to again fail and bring another temporal clone of himself from the past into the present. This continues many times with the Wolf getting more and more clones of himself from his failures and Doris continuing to support all the wolves.
Eventually when the house is filled with more clones of the Big Bad Wolf than the house can support, the Big Bad Wolf and his copies relies Doris is missing. Doris had taken the time machine and gone back in time to fix her "biggest mistake", marrying the Big Bad Wolf. Going back in time to Leonard Fox, she chooses him over the Wolf, the two get married and live "happily ever after" in the words of the narrator.
The happy couple rides a bicycle together, passing by the Wolf's wrecked house still filled with temporal clones of himself, leaving the Big Bad Wolf to wallow in his misery.
Notes[]
- Curiously when Doris used the time machine, she replaced her past self instead of creating another temporal copy, like whenever her ex-husband used it.
