Dolores the Octopus is a character featured in the Country Bear Vacation Hoedown attraction.

Background[]
Dolores is an octopus who has an infatuation with Shaker who gets attracted to his singing. Being a female octopus, Dolores wears a pink bow on top of her head while having a pink coloration all over her body. Like octopuses in real life, Dolores has suction cups on the underside of her tentacles. When she interacts with Shaker, she would occasionally react to him swinging her tentacles, which Shaker feels uncomfortable of Dolores squeezing his paws.
Development History[]
Dolores was an original character created for the Country Bear Vacation Hoedown overlay at the Disney Parks. Dolores debuted on February 1986 in Disneyland where she was placed into Shaker's act during the song "Two Different Worlds". The overlay was later constructed at Magic Kingdom where the same Dolores model was used.
A different Dolores animatronic was placed into the Tokyo Disneyland version of the overlay. Unlike in the American versions of the park, Dolores is given an animatronic head compared to her realistic counterpart where she sings "Over My Head Over You" (a song that was cut from the American versions of the overlay) with Shaker together.
Country Bear Vacation Hoedown had its last performance on February 1992 in Magic Kingdom. The attraction also had its last performance on September 9, 2001 in Disneyland, resulting in the animatronics from the attraction to be removed. Despite the closure, Tokyo Disneyland still uses Dolores during the "Vacation Hoedown" overlay ever since its opening day.
The original Dolores animatronic can be seen in the queue of "Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!" in The Collector's Fortress area as a tribute to the Country Bear Playhouse attraction that closed in Disneyland.

Country Bear Vacation Hoedown[]
In the former California and Florida versions of the overlay, Dolores is first seen during Shaker's act where she is seen holding Shaker's paws during the musical number "Two Different Worlds" where Shaker sings about his passion, much to Shaker feeling uncomfortable of Dolores' tentacles squeezing him hard. At the end of the song, Shaker feels frustrated, telling Dolores, "This just ain't workin' out." Dolores later appears during the end of the show where the cast of Country Bear Vacation Hoedown performs altogether.
In the Tokyo Disneyland version, a different Dolores animatronic was used instead of the realistic one found in California and Florida. Dolores in the Tokyo version sings "Over My Head Over You" with Shaker together, giving her dialogues so that she can verbally interact with Shaker.
Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT![]
The original Dolores animatronic can be spotted at the queue of "Mission: BREAKOUT!", as a tribute to the defunct Country Bear Vacation Hoedown attraction at Disneyland at the Collector's Fortress.
