Plot[]
Franz Jägerstätter, who refused to fight for the Nazis in World War II. When the Austrian peasant farmer is faced with the threat of execution for treason, it is his unwavering faith and his love for his wife, Fani, and children that keeps his spirit alive.

- A couple of days before the world premiere of A Hidden Life in Cannes Film Festival, there was a special screening for the daughters of Jägerstätters at their home. According to Valerie Pachner, the three sisters satisfiedly liked the film.
- A few scenes were set at the farmhouse of a Jägerstätter friend and neighbor, Eckinger.
- This was the last film released under the "Fox Searchlight Pictures" label before its name change to Searchlight Pictures.
