Description[]
This section contains spoilers. Read at your own risk!
The Kyrswynter is a Legendary Spear; an intricate curved and wrapped white polearm, its blue-white coloration indicating the frost of the Kyrsgarde, and the patterns under its hilt indicating the winds of the Eternal Gale.
The Kyrswynter comes with a single passive ability:
- Subzero Strike - Enemies are blasted away with an explosion on flourish, dealing extra damage and proccing Chill or Crystal stacks. (Dazing finisher/Bulldozer do not proc)
Critical[]
The Kyrswynter has two different criticals.
For the standing critical, the user pokes the spear forward, ragdolling enemies and knocking them back before conjuring a blast underneath them. Standing on the blast allows you to combo into an uppercut.
For the running critical, the user winds up before leaping forward with the weapon, finishing with an explosive ice blast. Right clicking while still in the air will allow you to cancel your forward momentum.
The criticals can be chained together by attacking before the standing critical, which allows you to perform the running critical after the standing critical hits.
Both criticals share a cooldown of 9 seconds.
As of 2/22/2025, criticals and weapon model now share the color of the path the player is using.
Obtainment[]
The Kyrswynter can be obtained from the Second Layer of The Depths:
- Have 75 Frostdraw and obtain the Talent Ethiron's Gaze.
- Speak to Naerotiv. He is along the path to the right of the first shrine near spawn.
- Defeat the Scion of Ethiron.
- Go to Frosviernr Joraelnaero as the Eternal Gale is collapsing and speak to him. You need the 75 Frostdraw to obtain the Kyrswynter but you need points in Medium Weapon to equip the Kyrswynter.

Trivia[]
- Previously the running critical used to have an Ice Blue indicator. This was later changed to a standard Red indicator to avoid confusion.
- The running crit is almost identical to (and probably inspired by) the Royal Greatswords "Wolf's Assault" in Elden Ring
- As stated in the description of the Kyrswynter, it explains how Old Kyrsan weaponry was far more pristine than New Kyrsan weaponry. Frosviernr Joraelnaero may have been the last ever modern Kyrsgarde to every conjure such a weapon, or it was safely passed down from his bloodline.
- The Kyrswynter also used to be enchantable on release through Laplace. This was quickly patched 2 days after its release.
- Following enchanted weapon rules, Kyrswynter used to already come enchanted from Frosviernr himself.
- The passive ability Subzero Strike is a reference to the Fairfrozen from Rogue Lineage, which is another ice-themed spear that possesses an ability of the same name. Their ability effects were also quite similar: The Fairfrozen's Subzero Strike also resulted in ragdolling the target backwards and applying ice, if landed.
- A part of the Kyrs series (Kyrsedge, Kyrstear, Kyrstreza, Kyrsblade, Kyrsglaive, Kyrscleave, Kyrswynter, Kyrsieger)
