“ Every flickering light in the sky. All along, they were the ruins of long dead civilisations. A skeleton of shimmering pearl stretching out across the night sky. You remember the stories told of the Celestials. The people of the stars. It's said that they first came to us with the Canticlysm, drawn from the Heavens by the Song. ”
The stars call you back...

Description[]

The People of the Stars, so to speak. They are not to be confused with Lightborns, their descendants. Celestials evacuated to the Luminants from the stars when the Canticlysm descended upon the Old World due to the invasion of their city, Constellia, by the Kyrsgarde under Ethiron's will. Known Celestials include Navae and Alsin, who have become religious figures in modern times. The Starkindred Church gain their powers from drinking the ichor of Celestials. Their appearances seem to vary wildly, with the crucified Celestial being a large, mannequin-like figure with four arms and no features. It has been said that they resemble both eldritch beings and humans.[1]

Trivia[]

  • The crucified celestial may be a reference to Lilith from Evangelion; both are large crucified beings, their blood being collected and used.
  • Additionally a "Celestial Race" was planned, however it never made it out of the testing phase of deepwoken.
  • ragoozer has stated that the Celestials resemble both eldritch beings AND normal human beings. [1]
