Synopsis for Batman: "The Man With the X-Ray Eyes!"
Eddie Brand is the victim of an unfortunate airplane accident and his eyes have to be operated to restore his sight. However, after the surgery he discovers that he is now able to see beyond walls, fabric and solid surfaces. Brand becomes a new attraction at the local theater as the Man with X-Ray eyes, but when he is rejected by society on his normal life, he decides to turn to crime under the advice of a crooked friend.
Batman and Robin start investigating the case and during a confrontation, Brand is able to see through Batman's cowl, learning his secret identity. The Dynamic Duo learns that Brand was previously engaged to a lady called Ann and they ask her help to capture Brand. Ann manages to turn Brand to the right side of the law once again, but his crooked friend has managed to deliver a picture of Batman's true face to the entire underworld. After one final confrontation where Batman captures the real criminal, Brand's x-ray vision disappears and he is exonerated by a Grand Jury when they learn of the details of his accident.
Later in Wayne Manor, Batman reveals that he was wearing make-up underneath the cowl when Brand looked past the mask and that the image that was delivered of his true identity is, in fact, that of a face which doesn't exist.
