Synopsis for "Shell Game"

Hippolyta assumes the role of Wonder Woman. Meanwhile, Diana, the Goddess of Truth, acclimates to being a god, but finds it difficult to comply with the Greek Pantheon's directive not to have any contact with her friends on Earth for one hundred years. At the same time Helena Sandsmark has accompanied Merlin to England and purportedly to the ruins of Camelot. Soon, Merlin disappears and Helena is attacked and captured by Etrigan, who claims to be free of Jason Blood and has seemingly given in to evil.

  • This story arc continues with Hippolyta traveling back to the 1940s, where she stays for eight years and acts as Wonder Woman. This seemingly has the effect of retconning the Golden Age appearances of Wonder Woman into continuity (at least for some period).
