Talia al Ghul was an assassin and a member of the League of Assassins, as well as the mother of Damian Wayne.
History
Talia al Ghul was the daughter of Ra's al Ghul, the leader of the League of Assassins. She eventually fell in love with Bruce Wayne (Batman) and gave birth to a son named Damian who later chose to live with his father, but she remained at odds with them both due to her criminal lifestyle. She also despised good-heartedness in a person and was acquainted with Jason Todd.[1]
Batman and Damian later started tracking her after learning that Talia had been hired to kill the mayor of Gotham City. After the Anti-Life Equation started turning everyone into the Anti-Living, she hid in the League's main safehouse in the city which was the Gotham Bank and slaughtered all the infected she encountered there. Damian was able to discover her location due to his earlier surveillance of her, being accompanied to the bank by along with Jon Kent and Cassie Sandsmark.[1]
Talia realized that Bruce had died after seeing Damian in the Batsuit and accompanied him to the Batcave, where she saw him buried alongside Nightwing and Tim Drake. When Damian started crying while hugging Stephanie Brown, she tried to pick a fight by chiding him for becoming soft under his father's influence, which angered Jon and Cassie. Damian however broke them up and stated she was doing it to take out frustration over losing Bruce, before deciding to head back to the Fortress of Solitude with her.[1]
She was opposed to Superman and much of the Justice League of America being against killing the Anti-Living, Lex Luthor agreed with her since he thought they were priortizing the undead over the living. As she told Superman to get over his idealism of not killing anyone, his wife Lois told her to back off and stated they couldn't risk killing billions who could potentially be cured. Wonder Woman refused to try to convince him when Talia asked her, knowing he won't kill, while Cyborg's words didn't have any effect. When Superman told everyone that they needed to safeguard the infected even if there was a small chance, it left her frustrated.[2]
She later assisted his son and the other young superheroes in guarding the survivors assembled at Nantucket. She proved troublesome due to repeatedly threatening to behead anyone she saw as a threat, including the recently rescued Black Manta, whom she had previously worked with and criticized Jon for protecting such a ruthless selfish criminal. An Anti-Living horde led by Black Adam however soon found their way there, due to a portal created by the infected Nightshade.[3]
As Jon, Cassie and Jaime Reyes dealt with Black Adam, Damian fought the Anti-Living horde along with Stephanie and Talia. Black Manta meanwhile was unable to stop the infected Atom Smasher, who soon tried crushing Talia, Damian and Stephanie, but was stopped by Jon and Cassie.[4]
