Superman (Volume 6) #17 is an issue of the series Superman (Volume 6) with a cover date of October, 2024. It was published on August 21, 2024.
Synopsis for "Magic Misery Tour"
After escaping to Themyscira from the Fortress of Solitude, Superman and Zatanna go through a magical portal to Justice League Dark headquarters underneath the Hall of Justice. Zatanna says that this will be their best chance of finding the Dark Roads, but Superman begins furiously punching the wall, angry at what Waller ad the Brainiac Queen did to Jon. Zatanna calms him down and they head off deeper into the tunnels. As they walk, Superman remembers previous fights he has had with magical villains, including back in Smallville against a teenaged wizard called "Kid Warlock", where he first learned that he was vulnerable to magic.
In Metropolis, Lois and the others manage to escape Supercorp and hide out at Lena's apartment. Mercy Graves tracks them down via Lois's armour and tells her to get rid of it. When she sees Lex she runs up and hugs him, but he doesn't recognise her and Lena explains that Lex has lost his memory. Lois asks what happened to Superman and Mercy tells her that his powers are gone and he was shot, but he is alive and on a mission to get help.
In the Dark Quarters, Zatanna takes Superman to Swamp Thing's lair, where they will find a way into the Oblivion Bar, but when they get there they find the trees being torched by Bureau agents. Superman tries to stop them but Zatanna yells that there are too many and runs to the islet in the centre. She pulls out a book hidden in the tree, which teleports them to the Oblivion Bar, where she believes they have the best chance of finding the Map of Mordru, or someone who knows where it is.
Zatanna tells Superman to keep a low profile, but he begins admonishing the assembled mages for hiding out instead of using their powers to oppose Waller. The now adult Kid Warlock tries to throw Superman out, gloating that he is helpless without his powers, but Superman punches Kid Warlock in the throat to prevent him casting spells and judo-throws him across the room. Neron, who is sat at a table on the edge of the room, calls out to them and reveals that he has the map. He says he will give it to them, if they make a deal.
