Rakkar the Nothing was the only known Kryptonian demon to survive after the destruction of Krypton, clinging to Kal-El's pod.
History
At some point, Rakkar entered Superman's mind as he slept and made him dream that he was a tyrant. Superman eventually descends to Hell and encounters Rakkar and throws him out of his way. Ascending to the throne, he tells the demon there to get out of his chair. Rakkar asks him if he still thinks this is all a dream.
Rakkar tells him how when Krypton was destroyed, Krypton's Hell was also, but he managed to grab hold of Kal-El's rocket and come to Earth. The lords of Hell gave Rakkar power to corrupt Superman, and now he thinks he has changed Superman into a beast of Hell.
Suddenly a fist shatters out of the beast's chest and Superman emerges. Rakkar was confused, and the hero explains that the Phantom Stranger created a false soul for him to be corrupted while Superman remained safe. Superman only coughs Rakkar to the Lords of Hell, where he lives on.[1]
