The Oracle of Delphi was the High Priestess of the Temple of Apollo.
History
The Sun-God Apollo blessed the Oracle with the gift of precognition[2], but she could also speak on behalf of the Fates.[1]
There were several priestesses serving as the Oracle, and it is also possible that the real Oracle was something or someone separate from the priestesses, who catched the faintest echo of the Oracle. The true Oracle of Delphi dwells far beneath the temple.[1]
