Nymphs are minor female deities in Greek mythology, often associated with a specific location such as a river of a forest.
History
They generally appear to the public as beautiful girls or women; sometimes, they have wings as well.
Zeus, as a child, was raised by Nymphs, whom he considered his foster family and who fiercely protected him from his father, the mad Titan Cronus.[1]
