The Maroni Crime Family was a crime family operating in Gotham City. Post-Infinite Frontier it is active in Bludhaven.

History

New Earth

Under the reign of Big Lou Maroni, they were bitter rivals of the Falcone Crime Family, though Carmine Falcone decided to keep Lou's son Sal Maroni closer, with Maroni and his family becoming subservient to the Falcone family. Following the death of both Carmine Falcone and Sal Maroni, the organization, under shared leadership of Pino Maroni and Umberto Maroni, was absorbed into the Falcones by Sofia Falcone.

After the deaths of Sofia, Pino, Umberto and all the others, the remnants of the family were briefly ruled by Alfrizi Esposito, until he was killed by Two-Face during his court trial.

Prime Earth

After the unknotting of the timeline, the Maroni Crime Family is one of the criminal organisations which control Bludhaven. Sal Maroni is the leader of the family and part of Blockbuster's inner circle.

When Meili Lin left Tony Zucco, she and her daughter Melinda were taken in by the Maronis. Melinda eventually rose to be Mayor of the city, much to Sal's excitement as he considered her one of them, unaware that she was secretly an FBI informant.
