• In Bat Lash's next appearance (Jonah Hex #51) which occurs the morning of February 24, 1857, he states the events of this issue occurred within "the past 12 hours" making the date of this issue February 23, 1857. Further, he walked most of those 12 hours to arrive in New Orleans making the location of the paddle boat definitely somewhere within the state of Louisiana.
