James Olsen (Lois & Clark)

James Bartholomew "Jimmy" Olsen is a photographer for the Daily Planet.

History

He is good friends with Lois Lane, who he had a bit of a crush on, and Clark Kent. He and Perry White, the Planet's editor, have a father/son or mentor/mentee type relationship, as his own father is implied to be absent from his life. However, he is still in contact with his mother.

Notes

• This version of the character is exclusive to the continuity of the television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and is an adaptation of Jimmy Olsen. The original character was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and first appeared in Action Comics #6.

• Jimmy Olsen was played by Michael Landes in the first season of the series and by Justin Whalin for the second through fourth seasons. In the fourth season episode "Brutal Youth", Jack Larson portrayed Jimmy under the affects of an aging ray. Larson previously played Jimmy Olsen in Adventures of Superman.
