Synopsis for "The Elixer of Invulnerability!"
After winning a company raffle, Hal gets a surprise vacation. While out on the island of Ohau, Hal relaxes by scuba diving where he explores a sunken ship and finds a hidden cash of sunken treasure. However, Hal is attacked by a group of undersea bandits who steal the gold, Hal has an allergic reaction to his power ring and has to be taken to the hospital.
Removing the substance that is reacting to him, Hal dons his power ring and searches for the gold thieves as Green Lantern. Hal ends up stumbling upon a plot by Keith Kenyon, a man who has been collecting gold to create weapons and also create an elixir that will make him invincible.
Because of the yellow color of gold, it naturally counter acts the effects of Green Lantern's power ring, making Kenyon believe that he is invincible. However, once Hal actually lands a punch and Kenyon feels its blow he rushes to drink more of the elixir, however Hal knocks it over before delivering a knock out blow. With the crook defeated, and the last of his elixir destroyed, Hal can't help but wonder if Kenyon was truly invulnerable or if it was just his power rings inherent weakness to yellow that helped foster the illusion.
