Synopsis for "Ignition"

With the Crisis finished, the Guardians of the Universe gather the Green Lantern Corps, or the three-fourths that remain, on Oa to officially welcome Hal Jordan back to the Corps and give them their assignments.

Hal gets assigned to investigate and report the status of Star Sapphire, now queen of Zamaron. There, Hal tries to bring Carol back to normal but fails. Star Sapphire claims that she is "an extension of Carol Ferris, not a separate personality," and wiping her away would also wipe Carol. With his task complete, Hal accepts his loss and leaves Zamaron.

John and Katma go to Maltus, assigned to request Appa Ali Apsa to return to Oa. The former Guardian, now a regular Maltusian, refuses their offer at first, claiming that he wants to keep his humanity and help the people of Maltus. John and Katma insist, saying that the Guardians lost control during the Crisis, and probably forever. Hearing how the situation changed since he left the Guardians, Appa Ali Apsa rethinks their offer and finally accepts.

Meanwhile, Arisia, Ch'p, and Salakk confront Goldface and Lurlan Dupo at an interplanetary restaurant. The yellow villain holds his ground against the Green Lanterns until Hal Jordan arrives to give them a helping hand. With their collective efforts, they manage to wear Goldface out, making him easy to arrest. Goldface explains that the rest of the villains are now hunting for Guy Gardner.

On Zamaron, Star Sapphire finds out that all of her subjects have disappeared. Suddenly, Guy Gardner breaks the silence of the scene, offering a partnership with Star Sapphire.
