Things just got real.
The Freedom Fighters are a team composed entirely of old Quality Comics characters when the company was bought out by DC Comics. The original Pre-Crisis concept for the team is they existed in a world where the Nazis won World War II and proceeded towards global conquest... on an Earth dominated by fascism, they were the unstoppable voice of freedom and liberation. Modern stories set in the mainstream DC Universe have them fighting for American ideals in the present day, with a team still led by Uncle Sam but featuring many legacy characters.
