Fred Danvers (disambiguation)

Frederick "Fred" Danvers is Supergirl's adoptive father. Upon their son's loss, Fred and his wife Edna adopted an orphaned kid called Linda Lee, not knowing her real identity was Superman's cousin Kara Zor-El. Eventually Fred and Edna would become one of the few people whom both Kryptonian heroes entrusted with their secret identities. In other universes, Supergirl's foster father was named Jeremiah.

Fred Danvers was created by Jerry Siegel and Jim Mooney, making his first appearance in Action Comics #279 (1961).
