Devin (Wildstorm Universe)

Sometime prior to 1992, she solicited her services from a team of Daemonite agents known as the Cabal. As an agent of the Cabal, Devin worked alongside Helspont to further his plans for a Daemonite reunification. This event would result in the complete subjugation of everyone on the planet Earth. The Coda and a team of Daemon agents were charged with finding a group of "gifted ones" - Kherubim/Human hybrids who had been living amongst homo sapiens, unaware of their alien heritage. Devin tracked the latest of these so-called gifted, Priscilla Kitaen, to an exotic dance club in Georgetown called the Hot Spot. There, she came into conflict with her former Coda sister, Zealot, and her clan nemesis's ally, the Grifter. Zealot and Grifter were working on behalf of a covert action team called The WildC.A.T.s and sought to save Kitaen from the Cabal. During the fight, Devin detonated a bomb that destroyed an entire Georgetown city block. The WildC.A.T.s managed to escape, along with Kitaen, but Devin was severely burned in the blast.

Having survived her ordeal yet failed in her mission, Devin was shamed before her sisterhood. The chapter of Coda which she belonged to had abandoned her in disgrace for her inability to finish the assignment, cast out and debased; Devin swore vengeance against the half-breed whom caused her fall from grace. Stalking the newest recruit of the WildC.A.T.s to her new base of employment in New York, Ms. Kitaen sensed her thoughts as the former sistren knew she would. A fierce battle broke out at the new club her adversary danced at, the two matching one another blow for blow thanks to the former's Coda training by Zannah. The battle ends after Priscilla reaches into her mind and maneuvers Devin into falling on her Clef Blade, ending the threat that the hysterical assassin posed for good.

Worldstorm & Armageddon

This was not the end of the exile, however, for after the whole of the Wildstorm Universe had been reset by the actions of Captain Atom and the new Void. Devin would not meet her demise as people had believed and would merely lay low until right after outside forces had summarily dealt with the main branch of Earth's sisterhood of assassins. Devin made her rise back to prominence as the head of her own Coda sect in the wake of World's End. In a broken planetary setting where resources were scarce, and superhuman monsters ran amok, the new magestrix opened her doors to any passing survivors to either be indoctrinated into her growing army or used as breeding stock to spread her ranks further.

Her chapter ran afoul of Gen 13 when she tried to coerce their members to join her sanction, many of whom rebelled and fought her warriors off at the cost of some of their own being taken prisoner. As Devin was in the midst of interrogating Rainmaker on the whereabouts of her two escapee friends, a Fairchild from the past was brought to her decimated future by Void to find a way of preempting such an apocalyptic inevitability. Backed by her friends and faced with the prospect of having to rebuild if they were to indeed go on the warpath, Devin agreed to a truce with the pre-end of days Caitlin to give them a vehicle and their friends freedom to leave. But promised that she would be less than cordial if the two were ever to meet again.

Decelerated Aging: Devin participated in a Coda blood-tying ceremony, whereupon she was infused with a quantity of Kherubim blood. The sanguine of these immortal xenoforms ensured that new members of the Coda would cease to physically age, and live well beyond the average lifespan of a normal human being.

Abilities

Martial Arts: Devin is expertly trained by the Coda sisterhood in exotic fighting techniques and killing arts. She is also proficient with the traditional Coda Clef Blade.
