The Planet Venus is populated by tiny, winged girls, and their ruler is Queen Desira.

Long ago Desira gave up her daughter to Aphrodite's service as the guardian of the Garden of Eden hidden beneath the polar ice on earth.[2]

In 1942, Wonder Woman was rocketed to Venus by Nazis trying to get rid of her. While on Venus, she aided Queen Desira and her Venusians in a battle against Solaris and his Meteor Men.[3]

Later that same year, Wonder Woman was summoned by her new friend, Queen Desira of Venus, to help aid the women of planet Eros, who were being treated very unjustly by the despotic ruler Dominus. Wonder Woman and her friends led a revolution that overthrew this tyrant.[4]

Three years later, in 1945, Wonder Woman and Queen Desira again cooperated, to suppress an evil conspiracy among several Earth munitions manufacturers and a usurper to the Venusian throne.[1]

When Diana and the Holliday Girls found themselves abducted by giant woman from Mercury she led a contingant of her winged woman to come to her earth-based friends aid.

  • Venus Girdles

  • This version of Queen Desira, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
  • The version of Venus that Desira comes from exists in a "Hyperspace" continuity, outside of the main Earth-Two universe. The first time Wonder Woman visited, she wound up there (instead of the Earth-Two Venus) because of side-effects of the Crisis on Infinite Earths.[3][5] Despite this, Wonder Woman from Earth-Two was able to revisit this Venus several times.[4][1][6]
