Synopsis for "Scoreboard"

Dr. Megala request Captain Atom's help to cure his radiation sickness, which has been growing worse and he sees Nate to be his only hope to save his life after believing Silver Shield had escaped to outer space before he could make use of it (Nate refuses to reveal Silver's location as he doesn't trust Megala). Nate agrees to help in return for constructing a new body for Red Tornado, which Babylon has the expertise to work on. After his meeting with Megala, Nate talks with Tornado for his reasons for not revealing Silver's existence to Megala until he finds out what kind of "cure" Megala has in mind.

Nate later consult with Anton Sarrok on whether he should told Megala about Silver Shield. Though Sarrok would like to see his colleague cured, he doesn't want him to know about Silver as he sees Megala being not the man he remembered after his body was disfigured, and for having questionable morals that led to making Captain Atom and Major Force into guinea pigs.

Nate meets up with Goslin, Randy, Harris and Wade Eiling at Smitty's to discuss about finding Peggy. The group are at odds over whether they should be finding Peggy as Harris points out about respecting Peggy's privacy and letting her to contact them if she wanted to. Goslin soon leaves after seeing how pointless to sit and mope as he could find her himself during his vacation time.

The next day, Nate and Megala are strap to an apparatus that will be use in curing the latter's condition. As explain by Megala since his body was exposed and contaminated to Silver Shield's radiation, he believes that a second exposure to the same radiation will briefly put his DNA in a state of flux and allowing Nate to absorb the radiation from his body while simultaneously receiving healthy blood intravenously, thereby cleansing his cells; although this will not allow him to fully recover, but at least he will not die. Megala also reveal to Nate that the source of his new exposure is Nate's atomic energy in which an X-Ionized scalpel is to be cut into his Dilustel skin as he originally planned to do with Silver Shield much to Nate's outrage.

The operation then commence as Nate's skin is cut and exposing his radiation to Megala. After Nate's wound is sealed with a laser, he then immediately absorbs the radiation from Megala, who is cure of his sickness but at a price of becoming blind.

Eiling and Martin Allard later arrive and are surprised of Megala's condition. But they are not here to see Megala, they are here to confront Nate for hiding Silver Shield in Las Vegas; Allard had found out about Silver last night after learning news reports about a "giant, four-armed silver alien" being last seen at a hospital. Megala is left shocked and torn in which Nate bluntly admits to the doctor that he never see him as a friend, but a user of people.

Meanwhile Sgt. Charles Hendel has decided to betray Project Atom to The Ghost.
